During the past couple of days, the United Llamas wrapped up the projects we’ve been working on and started to get ready to depart to our next destination.
In order to learn a little more about local production, we visited Sebastian’s coffee farm and we got to work on the whole process of making delicious coffee!
Here’s Amanda at work, picking berries:

Charlotte helped grind the coffee:

We also finished weeding, cleaning and painting the curb of the Main Street! Here’s our team taking a well deserved break:

Here’s the whole Llamas Unidas team at the nursery we built!

As part of a reforestation project, the team went out to collect specific types of trees and brought them back to the nursery to start growing new plants:

And here’s a picture of the whole team (with the mural behind us) with all of the children of Las Tolas. We will miss them so much!

Even though we were feeling a little sad to be departing from Las Tolas, we got on the bus feeling inspired, with our hearts full. The town prepared a great farewell meal and dance party for us:

Our United Llamas have deeply connected with their Ecuadorian families and will never forget this experience! Here are the students with their host families on our last night!
